The Clean factory has released the Explorer II 226570, also known as the Explorer II Gen 2, featuring both black and white dials. The most notable highlight of this release is the inclusion of the Dandong 3285 movement. This is the same movement used in the GMT Master II 126710, but the 3285 movement in the 226570 is larger in size. Additionally, the date position differs from that of the 126710.
One issue to note is that the date position on many Explorer II 226570 models in the market is incorrect. This is because the demand for the Explorer II is relatively low, making movement manufacturers reluctant to develop a separate movement size specifically for it. Clean spent over a year convincing the Dandong movement factory to develop this size exclusively.
In terms of visual differences, a black-dialed genuine Explorer II purchased many years ago shows that the font on the bezel is thinner compared to Clean’s version. However, a genuine White-dialed Explorer II purchased in 2023 has a bezel font that is identical to Clean’s version.
